Review policy

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Reviews help travelers make informed decisions and help property owners improve their listings. Here's what's required for reviews on Whimstay.

Reviews must be relevant

Your review should focus on the property and your experience staying there. Comments about Whimstay's policies, customer service, or topics unrelated to the property don't belong in property reviews.

Reviews should be written in English. If you need help with translation, contact us at [email protected].

Reviews must be authentic

Only guests who have stayed at the property can leave a review. Your review should reflect your genuine experience without any outside influence.

Reviews can't be:

  • Incentivized in exchange for refunds, discounts, or other benefits

  • Fake or written by someone who didn't stay at the property

  • Retaliatory or intended to mislead others

Reviews must be respectful

Reviews can't include:

  • Harmful, discriminatory, or explicit language

  • Threats or illegal content

  • Content intended to harass or deceive others

Respond to a review

Property owners can respond to reviews to provide additional context, clarification, or their perspective on what happened. If you disagree with facts in a review or want to share your side of the story, responding directly is the best way to address it. Your response will appear alongside the review so future travelers can see both perspectives.

Report a review

Reports should only be made for reviews that violate this policy—such as reviews containing threats or explicit language. Disagreeing with a guest's opinion or their version of events is not a reason to report a review. If you have a different perspective, respond to the review instead.

If you believe a review violates this policy, contact Whimstay support. We'll review the report and may remove reviews that violate our guidelines.
